The Connie Joseph Foundation Inc. is built on a simple, beautiful legacy: a gregarious smile, a heart of pure gold, and a lifetime spent looking out for others.
Born on the Beautiful Island Antigua, Connie grew up in the area of Point Village affectionately known as “Booby Alley”. It was there that she developed her deeply rooted passion for community, growing into a woman who was always ready, willing, and able to lift up anyone in need.
Connie’s warmth knew no boundaries. Whether volunteering with the Salvation Army on Antigua or in New York, she dedicated her days to bringing comfort and joy to the vulnerable and less fortunate.
She was the driving force behind large holiday turkey distributions for local families, and she brought the magic of Christmas to disadvantaged youths on Antigua by starting a wonderful Toys for Tots event.
Even while living in New York, Connie continued her volunteerism unabated by establishing “Friends Helping Friends.” Through this organization, donations most needed for sick and shut-in Antiguans were collected and distributed.
Deeply devoted to her elders, Connie also created a heartwarming Sick & Shut-In meals program. She brought together a close-knit group of volunteers to cook and deliver fresh, warm comfort food, operating straight out of the kitchen of her home church, Spring Gardens Moravian Church in St. John’s. Together, they delivered over 300 meals to those who needed them most.
We created the Connie Joseph Foundation Inc. to pay homage to this truly amazing woman, but more importantly, to keep her radiant spirit alive.
To expand her legacy, the foundation partners with existing organizations dedicated to helping those in need, while also building our own impactful initiatives. This includes The Petrie Stetson Philip Music Scholarship, which provides a FULL music scholarship to underserved youths between the ages of 11 and 17.
